Bahubali: The beginning that released in theatres last year won millions of hearts through its excellent cinematography and direction leaving its audience waiting eagerly for its sequel. The film raked a massive $92 million and was amongst the top 5 highest grossing Indian movies globally.
The makers recently decided to roll out a licensing and merchandising program for the blockbuster movie. The production house Arka Mediaworks (Twitter: @arkamediaworks) is focusing on three aspects: the movie, animation and the Virtual Reality content with two totally different strategies and creative content for the movie and animation for the consumer products and promotions. This would include a wide range of products belonging to varied categories like apparel, stationery, novelty, home décor as well as innovative non-traditional categories like financial services etc.
The production house are also willing to look at the other verticals like comics, games, merchandising, and brand partnerships etc. as independent revenue verticals.
